The HoloToolkit offers a great many, simple ways to add what seems like extremely complex features of the HoloLens, but it can be a bit tricky if you're new to Windows Holographic. So this will be the first in an ongoing series designed to help new developers understand what exactly we can do with the HoloLens, and we'll start with voice commands. The hololens team has created a useful “HoloToolkit” for use with Unity. It provides stuff like Spatial Mapping, client/service for sharing holograms among multiple users, cursors, gesture handling, spatial sound etc. It’s pretty simple to install in to your project, so here’s the simple step-by-step. HTK 2017 MRTK v2; Setup: Delete MainCamera, add MixedRealityCameraParent / MixedRealityCamera / HoloLensCamera prefab to scene or use Mixed Reality Toolkit Configure Apply Mixed Reality Scene Settings menu item.: MainCamera parented under MixedRealityPlayspace via Mixed Reality Toolkit Add to Scene and Configure. In Unity - in the top-hand menu - select the HoloToolkit-Sharing-240 menu. Select the Launch Sharing Service item in the drop-down. Check the Private Network option and click Allow Access when the firewall prompt appears. Note down the IPv4 address displayed in the Sharing Service console window.
